Today is one of our favorite days of the year – Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A.
Now, if you’ve never heard of it, you are missing out. On July 9th each year, if you go to Chick-fil-A dressed up in Cow Gear, you will get a free entree! There’s nothing better than free Chick-Fil-A, especially when it’s for the cow appreciation day celebration. Your local Chick-Fil-A should be participating, so check it out for free chicken! This is an annual event and it’s so much fun for everyone. Start planning your sort of cow apparel now and get ready for your free meal!
It seems like this event has evolved and changed over the years. We started doing it when Jack was just about two-years-old, and it’s been a fun thing to participate in. All you need to do is wear some type of cow attire and show up to the annual cow appreciation day event.
Here are a few pictures from over the years:
When we first started doing it, Chick-fil-A had a sign, spots, ears and tails that you can print off on their website. However, last year they took them off for some reason! It was easy to put on a white shirt or black shirt and accessorize with their prints, but I guess they wanted to make it more of a challenge.
So I decided to make my own “Eat Mor Chikin” sign. I found the Chick-fil-A font online and just created this sign online.
Since I’m sure I am not the only one looking for this, I thought I would share it with all of you.
You just need to print it off, and cut the black holes out, and then put some string through those.
For the rest of your costume, here’s what we do. We wear either black or white clothing and cut out cow spots from black and white paper.
Then we secure them on with tape! I usually cut out some ears that we put on hats with tape as well.
Easy as pie. We always talk about making reusable costumes…but this seems to work well. It’s a great social media photo opportunity as well!
Here are a few other ideas you could incorporate:
- Cow ears
- Face paint
- Black construction paper spots
- Cow mask with eye holes
- White spots
- Plastic cow nose
So if you’d like the sign, just click the download button below to get the PDF or right-click the image to get a JPG version. Print off as many as you’d like! You could even wear a full cow costume if you would like. There are so many options available!
It’s so fun to see all the cow-dressed customers in line at the national cow appreciation day event. Whether you’re looking to get some free breakfast, entrée, lunch entrées, a dinner entrée, or a free kids meal, this is such a fun, unique way to do it. Who doesn’t love free food?? The dining rooms can get a little crowded on cow day, so make sure you plan accordingly for the upcoming cow appreciation day. This is such a fun annual tradition the whole family will love. If you’re looking for fun ways to get free food, join in on the next Chick-Fil-A event!
Not able to make it today? Don’t worry – you can make this copycat Chick-fil-A Origional Chicken Sandwich at home! Or try making a chicken cool wrap!
