Dollar Tree Coupons…do they exist? The answer is a big YES! In this post, you’ll learn everything you need to know about getting an even better deal at the Dollar Tree!

Coupons for Dollar Tree

It’s no secret that we LOVE the Dollar Tree around here.

Just the other day, Jack said out of the blue, “The Dollar Tree is really the best place to shop…because everything is a dollar!”

I’m glad we are teaching him well.

The truth is – there really are so many great finds at the Dollar Tree. We’ve shared some of the best Dollar Tree products (in our opinion), and while not everything is worth buying…there is a lot that is.

$1 is not a lot to spend to begin with. Having everything priced at a dollar feels like a fairytale compared to the prices at the big box stores.

But you want to know what makes it even better?

Coupons.

People are always wondering if they are can use coupons at The Dollar Tree – and that is a BIG yes!

There are many Dollar Tree secrets, but I think the most valuable is learning how to coupon.

So in case you are wanting to save even more on your trips to The Dollar Tree, here are a few things you should know about couponing at The Dollar Tree.

Does Dollar Tree take coupons?

Over the years the Dollar Tree has been providing more name brand items that offer manufactured coupons. If you find an item that matches the brand, ounce, and quantity as stated in the manufactured coupon then you should be able to use it for that item.

Does Not Accept Copies

You can use manufacturer coupons that you find online and print, but you can’t use multiple prints of the same coupon or a photocopy of a manufactured coupon. Scan through your coupons and make sure each one has a different numbered barcode.

You Can Use Coupons for Over One Dollar

If you have a coupon for $1.25 off when you buy multiples of the same item, you can use that coupon, as long as, it doesn’t exceed the overall retail price.

Don’t Expect Cash Back

After using coupons if your transaction becomes negative, you will not receive the difference in cash back. In this case, I would add another item to balance out the total amount. Keep in mind that you will also have to pay the sales tax for the transaction.

With that said, The Dollar Tree DOES participate with Ibotta, so after you have made your purchase and gotten a receipt, you can submit your receipt for cash back for any qualifying offers.

I usually suggest looking at the Ibotta app before you go so you can be on the lookout for some great deals. If all else fails, you can almost always submit your receipt for 10 cents cash back.

If you don’t have an Ibotta account, if you go through this link, you’ll get $10 back after your first qualifying rebate!

You Can Use Four Like Coupons

Dollar Tree will accept four like coupons per customer a day. If you have four different coupons for a brand of soap, you can buy four or more of those soaps and use four coupons that have different barcodes on those items. You can only use one manufactured coupon per item.

Search for BOGO Coupons

You can use Buy One Get One Free coupon at your local Dollar Tree. It is always fun to walk away with some free items. Be on the look-out for some BOGO coupons available on items within the store. Sometimes in the candy aisle, you will discover BOGO coupons attached to the packaging due to a promotion that the brand is hosting.

The Cashier Can Say No

The associates have the right not to accept a coupon if they feel it is being misused. If you are following their policy, it shouldn’t be an issue. If you are planning to use many coupons, then I recommend printing out their coupon policy directly from their website as a reference for you and the cashier. Sometimes cashiers are not fully aware of their store’s policy on coupon use.

Dollar Tree Coupon Policy

You can read the entire coupon policy here.

If you have never used coupons at Dollar Tree in the past, then before your next trip search for a couple of coupons that you can use and test it out. While you are shopping, make a note of some of the name brands that your local Dollar Tree is offering, so you know what coupons can be used. You may discover a new way of saving a little money every month.

What do you do if the coupon won’t scan, but beeps? My DT says they can’t accept it. How do you get them to input it manually?

I was told by my Dollar Tree manager that he could lose his job if he has to impute my coupon. My Dollar Tree cashiers do not know how to put in coupons when they beeped. They just tell me they can’t except my coupon even though it is an exact match for the item I want to use my coupon on. Guess I will have to print out Dollar Trees policy and show it to them. Even the manager. Thank you for this article!

I had no idea you could use Ibotta at the Dollar Tree! That’s awesome! Our Dollar Tree here is terrifying to go into unfortunately, but if we ever move I’ll keep this in mind 🙂
