Looking for some easy DIY home decor projects? Here are some of the best Dollar Tree home decor projects that we KNOW you will love.

Dollar Tree DIY Projects

I adore DIY projects when decorating my home.

It provides a warm, comfortable, and inviting environment. Many stores are selling decorative items to match the look that consumers are wanting but they can be costly.

Fortunately, you can obtain the homey look you desire with a visit to the Dollar Tree. Here are some items that you may be interested in grabbing on your next visit to Dollar Tree.

Dollar Tree DIY Home Decor

Mason Jars

When I think of the farmhouse I imagine that I will probably see a mason jar somewhere. Here are a few fun ways to use them in your home:

  • Store utensils in the kitchen
  • Pen or Pencil holder in office
  • Glass to drink from
  • Pantry
  • Vase for flowers (you can grab some of the great artificial ones for Dollar Tree – though fresh are always best)
  • Fruits and vegetables that you’ve canned

Here are some super cute DIYs you can do:

  • Glitter Mason Jars
  • Mosaic Mason Jars
  • Autumn Leaf Candle Holder
  • Firefly Lanterns
  • Burlap Wrapped Mason Jar
  • Hanging Jars
  • Pinecone Flower Embellishments
  • Gold Mason Jars
  • Luminaries
  • Tissue holders

Twine

Dollar Tree always has this available near the fake flower aisle. You can use these items to obtain a more rustic look.

Tie some twine around the rim of a vase as decoration or dip twine in some wood glue and wrap around a rounded balloon to create a beautiful hanging orb.

Here are some fun twine crafts:

  • Twine Coasters
  • Monogrammed Twine Letters
  • Twine Boxes
  • Repurposed Popcorn Tin
  • Memo Frame
  • Twine Flowers
  • Tissue Box

Storage Buckets

You can find many different shapes and sizes of plastic buckets, baskets, and boxes that can be used to store almost anything. Dollar Tree has some buckets that would be cute to store shoes, such as rain boots. You can also get creative and add some metallic spray paint to some wide buckets to create farmhouse style storage.

I loved this fun idea to make a Pier One inspired basket using a plastic laundry bin from the Dollar Tree. Here are some other fun ideas:

  • Spray Painting Plastic Bins
  • Fabric covered plastic basket

Glass

It is surprising how many different type of glass items are available at Dollar Tree.

You can choose from a number of clear shaped vases, just add a little bit of fake greenery and you can create a calm atmosphere by representing the outdoors.

By displaying a colored vase you can accent a shelf which will pull together a more modern look. There are some beautiful plate glass sets that you can pair together to create a uniformed farmhouse look for your dining room.

If you love a cold glass of lemonade during the summer months then pick up a clear pitcher and express some southern charm.

  • Book Page Vase
  • Frosted Vases
  • Chalk Paint Vase
  • Glittered Vase
  • Rope Vase

Metal

The farmhouse look tends to have a little bit of an industrial feel.

Along with wood, you will want to pair it with some wire or metal looking items.

Dollar Tree has wired wastebaskets and small storage baskets that can easily be spray painted and transformed for a more rustic look.

You may also luck out and find some tin items such as a tin vase or flower box.

Picture Frames

There are many types of picture frames available that can either display your family photos or may be transformed into something else entirely.

If you are displaying pictures I would suggest using a black or dark gold frame. Check out ideas on Pinterest such as creating a lantern out of picture frames or come up with a new idea.

In another post – Dollar Tree Wedding Centerpiece ideas – we shared a fun idea for using picture frames. It’s not just for weddings, either!

  • Love Frames
  • Serving Tray
  • Twine Wrapped Frame
  • Flower Arrangement
  • Herb Drying Rack

You can create a fun look within your home and stay within a small budget. Take some time to come up with some neat ideas and visit your local Dollar Tree for available materials.
