I can’t believe Easter is just a few days away. That holiday just seemed to creep up on us. I always love Easter – it’s such a wonderful time to celebrate spring, Christ, and all of our blessings. I always enjoy the more fun parts of the holiday as well, such as Easter egg hunts, the Easter bunny, and Easter baskets!

This year we will be celebrating Easter at my parent’s house, and my mom asked if we could bring an easy dessert. I’ve been trying to come up with some different Easter-themed ideas, but I’ve really drawn a blank. I thought about making my Easter pudding cups, but I decided against it (despite how delicious they are.) My sister-in-law told me about Twinkie cars with marshmallow bunnies on top, which were totally cute. However, I wanted to come up with my own unique idea…but the Twinkies got me thinking!

Twinkies are yellow like little chicks, and chicks are totally associated with spring and Easter. When we went to get a package of Hostess Twinkies at the store, I saw the Hostess Cupcakes, and I thought they would be perfect for a little bird’s nest. I just needed a few other little additions, and these Twinkie chicks turned out so cute! Jack thought they were so fun to make, especially when I put it in a showdown with his plastic duck!
