15 Must-Watch Classic Christmas Movies

Here are 15 must-watch classic Christmas movies to watch this holiday season that our family always enjoy.

15 of our favorite classic Christmas movies that we watch every year - and where to watch them for cheap!

Christmas movies are really only in “season” for a short-time, so you might as well enjoy them while you can. There are always tons of Christmas movies showing throughout the season on cable or satellite, but if you are like us and don’t have it, you often have to rely on other means to get your Christmas movie fix. Here are 15 must-watch Christmas movies that we love every year.

  1. Elf
  2. It’s a Wonderful Life
  3. Frosty the Snowman
  4. The Muppet Christmas Carol
  5. Disney’s A Christmas Carol
  6. The Polar Express
  7. A Christmas Story
  8. The Santa ClauseThe Santa Clause 2, and The Santa Clause 3
  9. Home Alone
  10. Christmas with the Kranks
  11. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  12. Arthur Christmas

Christmas movies are some of those rare movies that we might actually watch once a year. Personally, I’m not going to watch Jurassic Park, and similar movies, once a year. So, for many of us we either buy the movies or hope the Christmas movie we like or are in the mood for is on television or Netflix.

Some of these movies might be found at your local library or on Netflix (if you have a Netflix account.) However, there is a new and (after an initial $20 investment – think of it as a membership fee) cheap option called VidAngel. All of the movies above are available on VidAngel. For those of you new to VidAngel, here is how it works:

VidAngel is a movie and television streaming service that allows you to filter content with a customizable filter. In order to do that you have to pay enough to ‘buy’ the first movie, which is $20. You can either keep the movie or sell it back within 24 hours. When you sell it back, you get $19 in VidAngel credit. Forever after that point, you generally only have to pay $1 for SD movies and $2 for HD movies. You just have to press the sellback button within 24 hrs after you finish a movie.

So, lets say you watch every movie on this list. You would pay $31 to watch 10 movies, and any other movie in their large library would only cost $1 to watch. For ten movies you would pay less than $3 a movie. The buy in cost is worth it for the filtering options and the cheaper price down the line. Plus, you don’t have to physically go to a RedBox for the closest comparable price. Plus, VidAngel is constantly adding new and older movies to its large library. Don’t pay full price for movies you only watch once a year, and that you have to pull in and out of storage. Go digital, and go with VidAngel this Christmas (or give it as a gift – they just added gift cards!) I really sincerely like VidAngel and was not paid to write this post.
