We are always looking for fun things to do, especially around the holidays. Forrest and I searched around for a bunch of different Easter Egg Hunts and other Easter Events in some of the cities south of Denver – including Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Parker, and Castle Rock. I hope you will find this resource useful! Let us know if we missed any!
The hunt will be held on March 19th, 2016 at 10 AM at Miller Field, 3600 S. Elati Street. It will cost $1 to participate. There will be prizes as well as lots of candy.
The Family Sports Dome, 6959 Peoria St. in Centennial, will be hosting an Easter egg hunt. There will be a golden egg! Different age groups will take turns scrambling for eggs, and after the hunts kids can play on inflatables and do some activities. The event will be held Saturday, March 26, from 8:30 – 11:00 am. The event is free. The event will happen rain or shine.
Schedule for the different age groups:
- 9:00 am – 3 and under
- 9:30 am – 4-6
- 10:00 am – 7-9
- 10:30 am – 10-12
The egg hunt will be on Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at 10 am at the Thorne-Rider Park. Different age groups will be in different parts of the park. There will be lots of candy, and an Easter Bunny that you can take pictures with at the end of the hunt. Park through the north entrance, and arrive 15 minutes early to help things run smoothly. The Sheridan High School Gym will be the alternate location in case of inclement weather.
- Redle Field for 0-3 year olds
- Barney Park for 4-5 year olds
- Playground area by the sand volleyball courts for the 6-8 year olds
Littleton United Methodist Church
March 27th (Easter!) from 9:45 to 11:45 AM. It’s a free event with egg hunting, stories, snacks, games, and mores. Located on 5894 South Datura Street in Littleton. Bring your own basket!
March 26th at Butterfield Crossing Park in Castle Rock from 1 to 3 PM. There will be over 30,000 Easter Eggs, and the hunt is divided by age. There will be other activities such as the Easter Bunny and a train. It is free and for children 0-10.
Piney Creek Hollow Park Easter Egg Hunt
This event will be held on March 19th from 11 AM to 12 PM at Piney Creek Hollow Park in Centennial. It costs $2 to attend and you can register here.
This will be held at the Wildlife Experience at CU South Denver in Parker from 9 to 11:30 AM for all ages. It is $20 for adults and $14 for children 3-12. You can purchase tickets online. There will be a yummy breakfast of Denver egg bake, biscuits and gravy, and French toast, along with an egg hunt, face painting, and more!
The Children’s Museum in Denver is hosting a spring extravaganza. Their Bunny Trail is on Saturday, March 26, 2016. The event is meant to be both education and fun, like the museum. There will be art projects, treats, and a big bunny, Truffles.
Too Many Carrots Storytime
This will be held at the Littleton Barnes and Noble Store on March 12th at 11:00 AM. There will be a storytime reading of this book and activities.
Easter Bunny Photos at Colorado Mills
The Colorado Mills shopping mall you can take pictures with the Easter Bunny. The times are Monday – Thursday 11 am-8pm, Friday – Saturday 10 am- 8 pm, and Sunday 11am – 6pm. The Easter Bunny is located in the Kids Court in front of the Build-A-Bear.
Easter Bunny at Southwest Plaza
Get a picture with the Easter Bunny at Southwest Plaza. You do have to make reservations, and the pictures are not free. Reservations are available through Easter.
Park Meadows Photos with Easter Bunny
You can get photos with the Easter Bunny through the 26th. Photo purchases are not required to see the Easter Bunny. Photo packages start at 30.99.
Easter Eggstravaganza Parent’s Night Out
This will be held at the Heritage United Methodist Church in Littleton for children ages three and up on March 19th. It is from 4 to 7 PM. Parents should stay for the egg hunt, but they are welcome to leave their children for the free Easter party until 7 PM. It is free!
Each Saturday leading up to Easter, Michael’s stores will hold a children’s craft class for an Easter craft. There is a minimal cost (I believe $2), and details may vary depending on location. You can find out more information here. It looks like on the 12th there will be a bunny frame, on the 19th tissue paper eggs and an Easter egg canvas, and on the 26th, Easter Tic Tac Toe.
South Suburban Christian Church
March 26th at 2 PM. There will be an Egg Hunt and other activities. Free for all ages! Located on 7275 South Broadway in Littleton.
Whole Foods Market in Highlands Ranch is hosting this event from 11 AM to 3 PM on March 19th for children 3 to 10. You can sign up by calling or on Facebook. This is free, and it’s a fun craft.
On Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at 10 am at 1700 N York St, Denver, CO the Bunny Bolt will be held. There will be a number of fun activities. You can run a 5k, 10k, kids’s run, kid’s 1k. As with most events like this the purpose is fundraising, and you have to register and pay to participate. This event will be raising funds for Action for Amyloidosis.
EGG-Citing Egg Coloring
This is on March 25 at the Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Foundation from 4 to 6:30 PM. It is for children 2 to 16. $10 for residents, $12 for non-residents. You can dye eggs, go on a hayride, and participate in other fun activities! Sign up here.
Registration begins at 11 am – Noon. You get a wristband upon registration that you need to participate. There will be four age groups for kids from 0-12. There is lunch available from 11 am – 1 pm. Egg hunt begins at noon, and there will be give-a-ways at 12:45 pm (Their website says am, but I’m sure it isn’t in the middle of the night). There are a number of places to park nearby.
This is a free pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the food court from 9 to 10 AM on March 25th.
This Easter Egg Hunt is free and will be held on Easter Sunday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM for children 12 and under. It will be held at the Calvary Temple in Denver.
The free community ‘Glow Hunt’ will be held on Sat. March 26, 2016 from 9 am -12 pm. The glow hunt uses glow-in-the-dark eggs in their special glow-in-the-dark arena. Children will be divided into age groups, and siblings can go with siblings if needs be. Their website boasts face painting, cookie decorating, bounce houses, and a balloon artist as well. Egg hunts will be held every 20 minutes. Egg hunts will continue until the candy is gone.
The age groups are:
- Ages 4 and under (with parents)
- Ages 5 to 8
- Ages 9 to 12
The Easter Bunny and Spike the Railyard Hound will be handing out candy, and you can travel on a train while enjoying some nice spring weather. I believe normal ticket prices apply.
This is a free egg hunt on March 26th at 11 AM. It is for children 10 and under and will be held at the Willmore Outdoor Living Center in Littleton.
Colorado Christian University
This Easter Egg hunt will be on March 12th at the campus from 11 AM to 1 PM. It is free, and there will be lots of Easter eggs, games, and more!
Free Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny! It is at Northridge Park in Highlands Ranch at 10 AM for ages 1 to 11.
Ken Caryl Church Egg-stravaganza
March 26th from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Ken Caryl Church on 8395 W. Ken Caryl Avenue in Littleton. There will be over 8,000 eggs, breakfast, activities, a petting zoo, and more. Free – bring your own basket.
Parker’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
This is a large Easter Egg Hunt at O’Brien Park in Park. It goes from 9:45 AM to 12:30 PM on March 26th for children 10 years of age and younger, and there are different hunts for different ages. Free! This is hosted by Crossroads Community Church.
