Today was the big 20 week ultrasound. Of course, it’s always great to hear that everything looks good with the baby (and it did), but the big reason we’ve been looking forward to it is because we decided to find out if we were having a boy or a girl!
I haven’t really had any feeling one way or another, other than this pregnancy has been very similar to my last. Jack has been talking about a baby sister for a long time (before I was even pregnant), so that was definitely his guess. Forrest wasn’t sure either. When we went into my appointment, the ultrasound tech asked what Jack wanted – he said a baby sister – and she said she’s found that most of the time, little kids are right.
Well, was Jack right?

Nope! We’re having another little boy. During the ultrasound, I swear I thought it was a girl, so I started getting a little excited that we might be having a girl. However, right at the end the ultrasound tech confirmed that it was, indeed, a little boy. I’m not going to lie – I was a little sad! I honestly hadn’t thought I cared if I had a boy or a girl, and when I think about it, I don’t…but for those few minutes I thought we might be having a girl, it kind of was a little exciting. When she said it was a boy, Jack said over and over, “No, baby sister!” So that made me feel a little bad.
Fortunately, I got over that, and I’m so excited to have another little boy. Jack has been such a joy, and I think it will be fun to have two little boys running around. It would be fun to have a girl someday, and maybe someday we’ll have the chance…but for now, we’re excited to start planning for the arrival of another little boy! Most importantly, we’re grateful that everything look normal and healthy. That’s what really matters!
We had a little party at my parent’s house for the family that was in town, and we made hand dipped truffles using this kit. It was so easy, and everyone loved them. It was SO fun to see everyone’s reactions!
For everyone else, we took the picture I shared above. I made this shirt and onesie this afternoon, and I was so excited that it actually turned out. This was the first time I had used Heat Transfer Vinyl, and it turned out so well. Be sure to check out this post where I share a tutorial on how to make this yourself. I’m also going to sell these if you are interested. We got a lot of people saying how much they liked it!
