2016 Fall Festivals in the Denver Area

Fall is one of our favorite times of year – especially because they are so many fun activities to do outside. It’s perfect because the weather isn’t too cold, but it’s sweltering hot! Here are some of the best fall events in the Denver area for 2016!

Boo at the Zoo

Date: Oct. 22-23, Oct. 29-30

Candy, decorations, animals, and family friendly entertainment at the Zoo!

Fright Fest

Date: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Sept. 30 through Oct. 30

Fridays from 6-10pm, Saturday from 12 – 10pm, Sundays 12-9pm

Weekend nights get scary at Elitch Gardens

Date: Oct. 22 from noon to 6 pm

Look like a Zombie and have some fun!

Denver Oktoberfest

Date: Saturday Oct. 1 and Sunday Oct. 2

Celebrates German culture and an old German holiday.

Cider Days in Lakewood

Date: Oct. 1 and 2 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Lakewood Heritage Center

Family activities, food, and alcoholic beverages.

Elk Fest

Date: Oct. 1-2 from morning to early afternoon

Native American entertainment, a 5k run, and other family friendly activities.

Trick or Treat Street

Date: Oct. 28th-30th; 9 am to 6 pm

Where: Denver Children’s Museum

Candies, crafts, and carnival activities.

Highlands Ranch Trick or Treet Street

Date: October 29th, 10 AM to 1 PM

Where: Eastridge Recreation Center

This event is for children 12 years old and younger. Admission is $2. Each family can select a pumpkin to take home.

Light the Night 

When: October 31st at 4 PM

Where: Horizon Christian Fellowship – 5470 S. Lowell Blvd 

Free! They have inflatables, carnival games, face painters, balloon artists, food, and Trunk or Treat. All are welcome.

The Treasures of Toothless Jack

Date: Oct. 1 – Oct. 30

Audience and actors take hike while acting out scenes from Toothless Jack.

Family Fall Fest

Date: October 25th, 6-7:30 PM

Where: Parker Library

Yummy treats, stories, games, and crafts for the whole family. Free!

Meadows Pumpkin Festival

Date: October 22nd, 1:00 to 4:00 PM

Where: The Grange in Castle Rock

This is a free event with lots of pumpkins (for purchase), rides, music, food and more.

Fall Festival at Uncorked Kitchen 

Date: October 15th, 2:00 to 6:00 PM

Where: Uncorked Kitchen in Centennial

Music, food, cooking demonstration, and more. All ages are welcome.

Harvest Festival 

Date: October 15th, 2:00 to 8:00 PM

Where: Festival Park in Castle Rock

Pumpkin carving, live entertainment, and the playing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”

Zombie Crawl

When: October 1st, 12 PM

Where: Downtown Littleton

Pumpkin Harvest Festival

When: October 1st and 2nd, 10 am to 4 pm

Where: Four Mile High Park

Fall Fun Night

When: October 6th, 6:00 to 8:00 PM

Where: Lone Tree Library

This is a free event with games, a kiddie carnival and a special story time.

Pumpkin Festival

When: October 1st, 10 AM to 3:00 PM

Where: Creekside Gardens in Littleton

Pumpkins, pony rides, free lunch, and more!

Pumpkin Festival 

When: October 1st, 10 am to 2 pm

Where: Fairmont Park in Golden 

Free pumpkins, free pancakes, music, and hayrides! Tons of free activities. 

Spooktacular Festival

Date: October 29th, 1:00 to 3:00 PM

Where: The MAC at Philip S. Miller Park in Castle Rock

This free event is designed for children under 10 but all ages are invited. This is a free event with games, face painting, prizes, and more.

Corn Maze at the Denver Botanic Gardens

Date: Sept. 16 – Oct. 30

Enjoy the corn maze by day, and enjoy the After Dark Corn Maze and Dead Zone Haunted Attraction. Plus, get your pumpkin.

Pumpkin Festival at Denver Botanic Gardens

When: October 7th – 9th

Adults are $8, children are $6. Admission includes the corn maze, barrel train ride, pumpkin patch, and more. Pumpkins are available for purchase.

Castle Rock Oktoberfest

Date: October 1st, 1-8 PM

A free event for families with food, crafts, and more in Downtown Castle Rock.

Goblin Giveout

When: October 29th, 12-5 PM

Where: Downtown Littleton

Trick or treat through downtown Littleton!

Fall Festival 

Date: October 28th, 4-6 PM (trunk or treating at 5:30)

Where: Zion Lutheran Church in Denver

Games, prizes, and more with trunk or treating for all ages!

Annual Harvest Festival at the Littleton Museum

Date: Oct. 8th from 10 am to 3 pm

Pumpkins, hayrides, and other activities. Pick out your Halloween pumpkin.

Parker Trunk or Treat

Date: October 29th, 4:00 to 8:00 PM

Where: The Meadows Early Learning Center in Parker

This is a free event that will have games, candy, and more!

Handmade in Colorado

Date: Oct. 1 from 9 am to 6 pm; Oct. 2 from 11 am to 6 pm

Some of Colorado’s best fine art and contemporary craft.

Hiwan Halloween

When: October 28th, 4-7 PM

Where: Hiwan Heritage Park in Evergreen

Treats, activities and crafts for the whole family!

Castle Rock Trick or Treat Street

Date: October 31st, 2:00 to 5:00 PM

Where: Downtown Castle Rock

Free event! Bring the whole family in costume and trick or treat through downtown Castle Rock.

Hope Farms Project’s 1st Annual Fall Festival

Date: October 1st, 11-5

Where: Hope Farms, 47695 Foxwood Dr., Elizabeth, 80107

$15 per person, under 16 free. Live music, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, contests, and more. Perfect for the whole family!

Halloween Nature Tales and Trails

Date: October 22nd, 1-6 PM

Where: Lookout Mountain Nature Center, Golden

Crafts, stories, and games. You need to pre-register here. There is not a set fee but donations are requested.
