Thanks for sharing. This is my third healthy pregnancy after repeat miscarriage and years of infertility. My first full-term pregnancy was on vaginal progesterone (generic form of prometrium.) My doctor, who is willing to think more outside the box than some, said that he and his brother prescribe it because of the anecdotal evidence, and because it does no harm. My doctor explained that the reason there is no thorough clinical research is because they cannot gather a control group on which to do the studies--they cannot convince a group of a hundred miscarriage-prone women to get pregnant without using prometrium while they give it to the other one hundred! So it's not just a matter of "the doctors haven't gotten around to funding a clinical study." Makes sense to me! I wouldn't want to be in the control group either, would you?!
Blessings,
Becky

Mine was at 20 when they first tested around 6 weeks. A lot won't supplement at that point, but their protocol called for it :)

In my experience, that sounds like a side effect of the Prometrium. But definitely call your doctor if you are concerned at all.

Hi. Thank-you for sharing your information. I am taking Prometrium twice a day before bed. I am 17 weeks pregnant. I have been noticing clear watery discharge with some white in it. Do you know if this is normal? Or should I be concerned about it being amniotic fluid? This is my first pregnancy...

You are doing amazing work! 👍 Thanks for sharing your wonderful posts! Progesterone (Prometrium) saved my baby. I was showing signs of miscarrying because of my hormone levels (due to insufficient progesterone levels). So happy I got ❤️ Prometrium, I took Prometrium (progesterone) for 12 weeks. The bleeding stopped the next day and I now have a healthy little boy! It is pretty commonly prescribed for low progesterone levels to help avoid miscarriage until the placenta takes over progesterone production.

Thank you very much for your story. I'm on my 3rd pregnancy after 2 early MCs in the last year and a half, and this is my first time using progesterone supplements because the numbers aren't looking good already. It makes me wonder if taking progesterone might've saved either of the first two. I'm over 44.5, so I don't have much time left, but I'm trying to stay hopeful. I'm wondering why they don't automatically assume progesterone levels are low in women my age and begin treatment every cycle when TTC, which I will do from now on if I lose this one, too.
