Thank you for this information. I just bought an expensive face moisturizer from Skin Ceuticals, started using it Thursday and Thursday night I got extremely sick and even passed out. I have felt horrible since then and this morning decided that was the only change I have made so did not use the moisturizer which contains peppermint and lavender oil among several others botanical oils. I cannot thank you enough, as I thought no way could moisturizer cause this.

I am happy to find this information. I have used essential oils occasionally over the years and sometimes have felt mild headache and fatigue afterwards
Fast forward to yesterday, I had a full aromatherapy session from a neighbor that sells expensive brand of MML oils and today feel like a have the flu. Body ache, muscle pain, headache, confusion, weakness. I’m sure I’m having a toxic reaction to one or more of the oils used.
Why isn’t there more information available
Hopefully I have learned my lesson

I used around 4-5 drops of peppermint oil (probably a few too many) on a paper towel to wipe on the windowsill to keep out roaches. I’ve been feeling sick ever since – asthma symptoms, plus dizziness. Hope it airs out over the next few days. I definitely have some kind of MCS so the correlation makes sense.

I am currently having this I had to clean up the oils it was mixed with water in a defuser and was spilled I am now feeling intoxicated, like I got off a tilt a whirl and I almost puked I’ve never had anything other than headache with the defuser but i have Also never got it on me like this. I scrubbed it to get it off. What can I do to make this go away I would like to sleep tonight!!! How long do symptoms last?

Thank you. My husband has been diffusing essential oils that he bought for my daughter this weekend and it makes me feel so sick. It only takes a few minutes and I have a headache and feel drained. He thinks I am overreacting. I had to take it outside and close the door to my room to get away from the smell. I feel very agitated by the scents as they seem so strong.

Hi. My experience is the same. Not just essential oils as I’ve only tried them in recent times. I found when I was about 30 ( now 65) that I’m very intolerant to linoleic acid. Found in all oils. All omega oils. All pantry oils. All seeds n nuts contains omega fatty acids. Oils. While these oils are anti inflammatory to most they are inflammatory to me. Hence hot confusion to fevers. with in 10-15 mins of consuming or using topically.
I can’t use skin care with any of these Wonder oils. Coconut. Lecithin. Oleic. Linoleic. Fish oils. The list goes on and on
I can use a little olive oil in cooking as it has the lowest content. Also I can eat oily fish and animal fats.
Apparently it’s very common. It can be genetic. It can make your bones ache. Depending on the strength.

I’ve been wanting g to try the thieves cleaner and the other thrives products for a while and I just finally ordered them in a great sale but sadly it is making me sick, just like you and others are saying. Within just a couple minutes my nose get super congested and I get lightheaded and start to sweat in my forehead and upper lip and get extremely nauseous, like bent over in pain. 😩 it’s happened 3 times now. I’m not sure if I can return it for a refund or not but I will be looking into it tomorrow as I’m sick to my stomach right now. Your article has helped me because I just wasn’t sure but now I am.

I get sick from some of the home made oils and some of the essential oils. I am trying to pick the ones out so I appreciate any names of the oils making you sick. I have done some research and it also depends on other plants people put in the oils. Be careful when using the oils because some don’t mix well with other medications you may be on.
