It’s now been over a month since the change to the visiting and home teaching programs for the church – how are you adjusting?
I’ve heard a lot of chatter regarding it, and I’d love to hear what your thoughts are. For some, they are just doing what they’ve always done…but for many, it is a big change in mindset!
I debated whether I would continue to make printables each month, but I got a lot of feedback from our LDS-centered newsletter that I should. Without having a monthly message to go off of, I’m just going to take quotes from General Conference each month and make a printable from that.
This month, I decided to go with this quote from M. Russell Ballard:
“Life can be filled with faith, joy, happiness, hope, and love when we exercise the smallest amount of real faith in Christ, even a mustard seed of faith.”
I felt like this was fitting and relevant to people of all different walks of life and stages of faith. I think there are times in all of our lives where we feel alone and don’t have much to give – but I know that showing even that smallest amount of faith can go a long way.
As I look at all the recent changes in the church (right down to today’s announcement about the changes in the programs for the youth over the next few years), I think that we will be required to go on faith even more in the coming months and years.
Even in our own lives, we never know when we will have trials that require more faith than we feel is possible. But when we exercise faith, it is possible to come out of those trials stronger and happier than before.
