I have to say, while there are certainly exceptions as there are to almost every generalization, I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement. It isn't just your kids that are always sick, or your kids that have a weaker immune system, its ALL KIDS...kids are still building up immunity, so they pretty much walk around all but about 10% of the time with something that could duly be classified as being sick. Asking me to keep my kid home when she has a runny nose is basically asking me to make my kid live as a shut in so that yours can pretend like they won't come in contact with germs because of it (which is a fantastical farse anyways)...so while I do keep my kids home when they are too sick to participate in school, and I don't intentionally take sick kids around immuno-compromised people, please refrain from pretending that my kids should have to live in a bubble just because you feel like yours do.

In reply to <a href="https://www.clarkscondensed.com/tips-for-keeping-kids-from-getting-sick/#comment-265424">Feath</a>.

I’m sorry to hear about your child but I’m not sure where you got about me forcing people to get vaccines. I do say if someone wants to be around my newborns, they need to have the whooping cough booster. However, I don’t force anyone to get it. It’s their choice and if they don’t, fine! They just don’t get to come over and hold my baby when they are small. I believe in vaccines and I will always recommend people getting them. But I’m certainly not forcing everyone and anyone to get them. Thanks!

I'm with ya until the forcing vax part.
One of my kids was a micropreemie who could have died from his 2 injections of DTap...first one they coveredup.
Second one neonatal doc admitted it.
And we have no written medical exemption.
Please don't push vaccines on people.
Some shed and recently vaccinated people put babies and immunocompromised people at risk also.
Vaccinated or not or whether or not you get sick you can still be a carrier.
And if your kid has boogers running. ...don't bring them to kids church ;-)
God Bless,

That has been corrected. However, I'm not sure if you really did appreciated this article since your entire comment was about how something I saw was wrong. haha!

Thank you for this post!

Please correct a statement you make about the FDA announcing hand sanitizers shouldn't be used. The FDA says antbacterial soaps shouldn't be used. The article you link very specifically states this admonishment does NOT apply to "consumer hand 'sanitizers' or wipes, or antibacterial products used in health care settings."

This is an important distinction! As the FDA states in the very article you linked, "If soap and water are not available and a consumer uses hand sanitizer instead, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that it be an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol."
