Hi, Ty: I appreciate your concern. However, if I try to be politically correct with everything we write, it would make it pretty difficult to get through a post :) I would hope people would use their preferred nouns and pronouns and not think I am trying to leave them out or be offensive :) Hopefully you still found some helpful tips in here. I am very aware of males that are trying their best to take care of their children - way to go!

I noticed you wrote: "parent," which is good but then you wrote:
"...but at least one other mom stay to help assist..."
Not sure if it was a slip, but generally speaking, people should be mindful that there are caring males trying their best for their child/children as well as females. It could be discouraging (for some, not me) to see mothers pointed out and some men can allow themselves to further fall into the stereotype that males are not caretakers. This is not good for anyone - the child, the parent and society.

I'm not "hating" on your post; simply heightening awareness. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this post. I am a state approved home daycare provider. We learn a lot through play. So many of my parents ask if they need to send their little ones on to a pre-school when they turn 3-4
years old. In the 20 plus years I have been a provider only a handful have attended preschool and usually due to "at risk" situations. I love it when those lawyers, teachers, nurses, stay at home Moms, etc ...stop by to say hello and remind me of the experiences they had when they came to my house. I agree, NAYCE is a very informative site.

Thanks for your comment! I have looked into play-based learning, and I totally agree with it. My son is very bright and knows so much, and I think so much is due to play. I'll ahve to look more into the NAEYC for more information. I think the longer we can keep our babies home with us, the better. :) I would love some resources if you have them - katie@clarkscondensed.com

I am a preschool teacher and Intotally agree preschool isn't necessary for kids with presents like you. The only comment I would make is would you please research play-based learning? Good quality oreschools no longer force kids to sit for long instructional periods. Kids brains are wired to learn through play. The learning happens by your interaction with your child. There is a lot of info on the NAEYC National Association fir the Education of Young Children. Also here on Pinterest. I applaud you for choosing to keep your babies home with you. I wish all kids could go back to learning as we used to when I grew up but please don't stress yourself or the kids. If you would like some great free resources to help you feel free to email me. I love to share. God bless you
