The Divergent Series: Insurgent

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Summit Entertainment. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

Something that Forrest and I have started to do in recent years is listen to audio books when we go on trips. It’s something we both look forward to, and we enjoy picking out a book or series together.

One series that we listened to via audio book was the Divergent series. It quickly became something we really enjoyed, and we were both so excited when we heard they were making it into a movie. We both really enjoyed the first Divergent movie, and we can hardly wait to see The Divergent Series: Insurgent, which was just released last week.

If you’ve never read the first book in The Divergent Series, here’s a brief synopsis from Amazon:

One choice can transform you. Beatrice Prior’s society is divided into five factions—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice must choose between staying with her Abnegation family and transferring factions. Her choice will shock her community and herself. But the newly christened Tris also has a secret, one she’s determined to keep hidden, because in this world, what makes you different makes you dangerous.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent is the continuation of this exciting story. I think it was my favorite book in the series. If you haven’t read the book or seen the first movie yet, go read it, and then come back and watch this trailer. If you have, here’s the trailer so you can see how exciting the latest addition to the trilogy is:

This movie isn’t just for young adults – I think just about anyone can enjoy it. It’s now playing in theaters, and you can see it in 2D and a variety of 3D formats. You can get tickets here.

Something that really resonated with me about this series is the theme to always stand up for truth. I think we live in a world where many have loose morals, and there aren’t as many consequences for people who are dishonest. As Tris goes through her different trials and situations, she always has the goal of standing up for what’s right and overcome evil.
