In reply to <a href="https://www.clarkscondensed.com/scrapbox-dreambox-review-and-coupon-code/#comment-347566">Ambur Rose</a>.

Hi, Ambur! I have both the Original Scrapbox (for over three years now) and the DreamBox. Both seem to be holding up well. With the Original Scrapbox, I do find that the shelving was a little annoying/difficult to work with. It's more due to the plastic holders, more than the wood itself. I don't have any of those issues with the DreamBox though. It's holding up very well, and I haven't seen any glaring issues. I will say - there will b e a really awesome sale in the next few weeks. I will share it here and through my email as well, so make sure you are subscribed. I'd wait to buy until then. This is what they say on their website for what it's made of:
"Our furniture is manufactured in Fredonia, Arizona and China. All DreamBoxes, WorkBoxes and Ultimate SewingBoxes are made at our USA factory. Our USA factory uses CARB (California Air Resource Board) approved 3/4" manufactured wood with a melamine finish. No added formaldehyde. Using manufactured wood with melamine finish is very important to prevent warping and any panel size changes . For the many shelves we use, the main structure needs to be exact to secure a tight fit. Humid weather and other weather changes won't affect the shape of our furniture, similar to modern kitchen cabinets. The melamine finish is very easy to clean after crafting! Use Windex and a soft cloth to wipe away dirt and finger prints. Our USA factory manufactures **Knotty Alder doors from real wood, and white, gray, and black styles with Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and the highly sought after Rigid Thermofoil (RTF).

What is RTF? It stands for Rigid Thermofoil. It is a very durable, low-maintenance material made to look like real wood, painted surfaces and more. Plastic-looking finishes are gone, replaced by wood grains and textures that are hard to distinguish from the real thing! They are longer lasting and easier to clean than ever! (Just soap and water)
RTF doors and tables are very durable and will keep their color long after painted wood doors have started to fade. Resist Warping - Pristine vinyl-wrapped thermofoil doors and tables are less susceptible to humidity and warping than solid wood. (Used in our white and black styles)
Thermofoil doors and tables(on our Ultimate SewingBox) offer the bright, clean and freshly painted appearance.
Our surfaces save rainforests and use recycled wood chips for the component’s substrate."

I get that this is a great solution for so many needs for the hobbyist/crafter. I would really love to invest in this as well, however the only thing that is holding me back is what its made of? I've committed to several pieces of furniture before (much smaller grated) but after weeks to months shelving warped, wood dowels that support shelving (similar to what I see here) have ripped through the supporting wall and its shelf insert hole due to the type of material its made of. Because I'm a jewelry designer, many of my tools and findings are incredibly weighty. So if I'm assured that this is sturdy enough to carry weight of this caliber I'm be inclined to order. So what is this made of and how is it holding up so far for you?

I'm glad this was helpful! They had a few other products that have been discontinued - the only thing smaller currently is the Dream Cart. They used to have a sew box that was a little smaller, but currently I believe all they have. are the DreamBox, Dream Cart, Hobby Box and Sew Station :)

Hi Katie,
Thank you for your informative post. I was looking at the Her Hobby box, but I remember them having one size smaller. Do you remember the name?
Also I liked your review on the accessories.
