The Best Pregnancy and Baby Freebies for Moms (New, Expectant, and Experienced)
Are you a new or expectant mom? Here are freebies for moms, new moms, and expectant moms!
There are a lot of great discounts, free stuff, and perks to being a parent, especially when you are pregnant! You sometimes get better parking spots (places like Babies R Us have “Expectant Mom” parking, and our local mall has family parking spots near the entrance), and there’s all sorts of free stuff and deals out there. Some of you know how much I love free stuff (and if you don’t, be sure to read my post about legitimate ways to get free stuff online), so I’m always looking for great ways to earn gift cards, save money, or just get stuff for free, as a by product of being a parent.
A bunch of these things apply mainly to pregnant women, but many of them can be useful for moms (and really, dads too.) I didn’t list everything out there – mainly things that I felt were actually worth signing up for. I’ve signed up for parent or pregnancy clubs that just sent me advertisements. But most of these are pretty great in my opinion!
Surveys and Studies
Check local websites
When I was pregnant with Jack, I participated in a study called NuMom2b. Throughout the course of my pregnancy, I went in for three visits to the local hospital. They did three ultrasounds (including a 3D/4D one, which was awesome), and I believe I received $200 in the end. Oh, and I had to donate my placenta to them (which, I wasn’t too upset about ;-). I didn’t have to do anything weird or that would harm Jack, and I came out of it a little richer in the end. So, just do a quick search for “Pregnancy studies in (your area)” to see if any are going on. Just make sure it’s being done by a reputable source, and you aren’t testing any experimental drugs!

I shared a bunch of my favorite survey companies awhile back, and they love when you say you are pregnant. I had tons of surveys that I could sign up for that required that you were pregnant. When I consistently did surveys, I made a decent amount each month (usually payable in Amazon gift cards or via PayPal.) If you are looking for away to pass those nine long months, definitely consider signing up for a few survey companies (my favorites are MySurvey and Ipsos I-Say.)
Get Free Gift Cards
Baby Registry Freebies
In addition to the Fisher Price club I mentioned above, there are a few other ways to get free gifts (sorry, this is just for the pregnant ladies out there.) When I was pregnant with Jack, I registered at both Babies R’ Us and Target. Both of them gave us gift bags with coupons, sample sizes of things like lanolin and nursing pads, and best of all, we got gift cards! I believe we got $15 to both places, and it was after we registered that they came in the mail. But it is totally worth setting up a registry for. The main reason I set it up was so I could get the gift cards. I know other stores (such as Buy Buy Baby) offer this incentive as well.
Here are a few baby registries to consider that have completion programs:
So this isn’t necessarily a “gift card” in the traditional sense of the word, but you can earn free products and rewards just for using Pampers Products (or entering codes you find online.) We pretty much exclusively used Pampers with Jack, so we earned a lot of these points. You can often find different codes online, and if you sign up at the link above, you’ll get 100 free points to get you started!
They now have a mobile app which makes it even easier to redeem your codes!
This isn’t exclusively for moms or moms-to-be, but it’s an AWESOME way to make cash back on any purchases you make – especially on all that pricy baby gear you might buy. Ebates allows you to make a certain percentage of cash back from tons of different online stores (such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and most other major online retailers.) And when you sign up and make a $25 purchase through Ebates, you can get a $10 gift card to Macys, Walmart, Target, and Kohls. Sign up here, or check out this other post I have on earning cash back for more information.
Again, this isn’t just exclusive to moms, but it’s a great way to earn gift cards for using their search engine and taking surveys. You get 30 SwagBucks upon signing up. If you use the code clarks2014 you can get an addition 70!
Baby Gear and Clothes
So there is this company that provides a bunch of different items for moms and babies that make life a little easier. Most of these products are things you may buy otherwise. You can buy them at-cost, or you can use a discount code for them – which makes the product entirely free, minus shipping. Shipping is a little bit more than I would typically think shipping would cost, but overall, I believe it’s cheaper than buying similar products other places, and they are good quality. I bought several of these items when I was pregnant with Jack. I’ll put a little commentary on the ones I used. Just use the code C113D4 to get the product for free!
Udder Covers – I’ll admit, this wasn’t my favorite – simply because I used this easy-to-make nursing cover more. However, I did use the “udder cover” (hate the name) for a few months, and it worked pretty well. I liked that there was a little loop in it so you could easily look down on your baby. Lots of cute prints too!
Carseat Canopies – I didn’t get one of these, but I am definitely going to next time around. A few of my friends had them, and I was seriously amazed at the quality of them. They are made with minky, really cute prints, and they definitely seemed a lot sturdier than the one I made (though, I did like the little window I added to Jack’s)
Eskimo Kids Hats – these are SO cute! Use the code CLARKSESKIMO1.
Pregnancy Pillow – I LOVED my pregnancy pillow. The code makes this one $50 off, and they are very high quality. You won’t be able to find a higher quality one for cheaper!
Nursing Pillows – I had a boppy that I got for pretty inexpensive, but these look really nice.
Maternity Bands – I bought a couple of these, and I really liked them. I personally liked the over-the-belly ones (I just liked that type of maternity clothes in general). You can get one of those, or two of the smaller ones with the discount code. These are great for making pre-pregnancy clothes last longer.
Baby Leggings – I got a few pairs of baby leggings for Jack, thought not from this discount. They are nice to have for winters!
Washable Nursing Pads – LOVE these!
Baby Sling – I honestly did not like my sling, but it’s because I got the wrong size, and I much preferred using my homemade moby wrap. However, I know a lot of moms that rave about there’s. I think I would have liked it a lot more, had it been the correct size. I’m a big fan of babywearing though, so this could be a great way to start.
Pregnancy Belly Stickers
Amazon Family is a great way to both sign up for Amazon Prime (you can read about all the amazing benefits of Amazon Prime here) and get 20% off baby wipes, diapers, formula, and more. You can get a 30 day free trial to see if you like it. I definitely think it’s worth signing up for!
This kit comes with diapers, wipes, and a few other non-toxic baby-friendly products. Just pay $4.99!
When I was just a few weeks pregnant with Jack, we wandered into a Motherhood Maternity store. I ended up buying a few things that were super clearance, and they gave me a little goodie bag with different samples of products and coupons. I loved it!
Free Kindle eBook – Just signup for the newsletter and get a free Kindle’s kids eBook for free!
Both Enfamil and Similac have great programs that give you free coupons, tips, and advice for your pregnancy and newborn. I got all sorts of freebies in the mail from them!
Chatbooks – Free Book
Groupon is one of my favorite places to find discounts on just about everything – restaurants, local museums, fun activities for Jack, and even for pregnancy massages! If you haven’t used them before, definitely consider doing it now. For instance, when we went to South Carolina, we paid about $15 for admission for four to the local children’s museum, which was WAY less expensive than just buying the tickets straight out.

Zulily is a really fun site that has killer sales on adorable kid’s and women’s clothes, products, and more. The sales last for 72 hours, and they seriously offer some incredible prices.
I learned about the Steals Network awhile back, and it’s one of my favorite sites. They have four different subsites – Baby Steals, Kid Steals, She Steals, and Scrapbook steals. Twice a day (during the week), they offer different products related to those categories for steep discounts. They have some great products that pop up, and it’s definitely one I would recommend subscribing to.
Jet.com – Get great discounts on household products
FabKids is a sister site of Fabletics, which is an athletic clothing subscription service. FabKids is a subscription service for kid’s clothes. While I think the monthly price is a little much to do all the time, you can get your first outfit for $15, which I do think is a great deal, especially because it’s for an entire outfit (and they are so cute!)
I’ve talked about getting kid’s clothes for less awhile back, and I mentioned children consignment stores like Once Upon a Child or Kid to Kid. These are still my favorite place to buy clothes for Jack, and you can score some great deals. Especially when they have $1 sales!
This is a great foundation that makes sure all kids have access to books, and from birth until five year’s old, you can request to receive a free book in the mail each month. Such an awesome deal! My friend Brenna wrote a great post about inexpensive ways to build a home library. Books are so important for children, so finding ways to stock up your collection is great.
Get seven free issues of Parents Magazine – no strings attached or credit card required! Love this magazine.
Another free subscription to a great magazine. No credit card required.
You may have heard of Gerber Grow-Up® whole life insurance for children. I get something in the mail about it at least twice a year. When Forrest and I were talking with a life insurance agent about life insurance, when we brought up insurance for Jack, he said the Gerber Grow-Up® plan would be a great option. It’s fairly inexpensive (insert price now), it grows steadily, and it is a great place to create a little nest egg for your child. It automatically doubles in value (for free) when the child turns 18. If you sign up now, you can receive a free child ID safety card, which includes everything you need in one place in case of emergency. Some people believe it’s a waste of money to have life insurance for your children, but I have a friend who strongly advocates for people to insure their children after her daughter passed away as an infant.
MassMutual’s LifeBridge Program
Even if you are a low income family, it’s still important to have life insurance on yourself in case you or your spouse passes away (heaven forbid.) I recently came across MassMutual’s LifeBridge Program which provides free life insurance for lower income families. They will issue a $50,000 term life insurance policy to a trust for 10 years. They pay the premiums, at no cost to you. There are several requirements, the most important being that you make between $10,000 and $40,000 a year. Obviously this isn’t a good option for most, but if you are worried about your families financial future, it’s worth looking into! Here’s some more information.
