Who doesn’t love to receive mail from a friend? In this day and age, personalized mail and packages aren’t as common as they once were – but they are just as appreciated! Lemon Drop Gifts makes it easy to let someone far or near know that you are thinking – here is our review of the December box, along with a coupon code!
Lemon Drop Gifts
About a month after the birth of our fifth child a friend came up to me at Church and said, “I feel so bad because I was going to make cookies and put them into little bags for your children’s lunches, but I just never did have time.” ( She had four littles of her own.) You know how it made me feel when she told me that?
Loved!
While the cookies would have been helpful, knowing that she had wanted to help me, and had been thinking about me, meant just as much. For real! So many times, it really is the thought that counts.
Today, our lives are so busy!
There are so many ways to stay connected but it can still be a challenge juggling a career, carpools, doctor’s appointments or just trying to figure out what’s for dinner. Whether the person we’re thinking about is across the country or just across town, isn’t it sad that often they never know we are thinking about them?
Growing up in northern Idaho, May 1st was always a big deal. We called it May Day and would make little baskets and fill them with flowers and cookies, and hang them on a few lucky friends’ and neighbors’ doors. We didn’t sign our names–it was meant to be a surprise.
Most people (except maybe in Idaho) don’t make May baskets anymore, but there are lots of other simple ways to show someone you care. A year ago we posted about an app that allows you to send personalized photo postcards for just $1.99 here.
There are other phone apps that can help us stay connected: Marco Polo and Group Me are just two that our family uses to communicate with each other.
But sometimes we just want to send an old-fashioned care box to someone we love!

The other day I came home to see this at my doorstep:
My daughter Katie had sent it to me. Here are some of the things that I found inside:
WHAT I FOUND INSIDE MY BOX
There was a beautiful acrylic scarf that I have been wearing everywhere, delicious peppermint cookies (how did they know I am the queen of peppermint??), a “shower burst” to hang in the shower from Hydrasoap.com, and a lovely snowflake pin made by clay artist Kim Lugar.
Each gift was different and lovely.
These photo gift cards of my grandsons Jack and Oliver were an unexpected surprise:
I think these cards were my favorite part of the gift box! I have them on my kitchen island where I can see those smiling faces all day long.
LemonDropGifts.com is a gift-giving site that makes it simple to send gifts to friends or family members for the holidays, or just any time at all.
Each box is packed with three to five seasonal, fun, and unique items for mothers and grandmothers, aunts, cousins, sisters, and friends.
You choose the theme of the box and can also upload a picture which will be printed into a personal gift card for the recipient. Pictures and/or gift cards are optional but really make the gifts extra personal. I recently sent a Fall/Thanksgiving box to my long-time friend Celeste who lives in Georgia and can’t wait to hear her reaction!
