Brother P-touch Label Maker

“I participated in an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Brother P-touch. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating.” #MC

Having moved a number of times, and being the one (in my opinion) that has more of the responsibility for home organization I have found it valuable to use labels. In the past I have been a bit lazy about it, but whenever a box or container is labeled it has always helpful. If a box is labeled there is no need to open it up to see what is inside. This is particularly helpful when moving and trying to figure out how fragile the contents inside are and where the should be placed. Additionally, when boxes are stacked and they all look the same no one wants to take the boxes down one at a time and open each one up to find what you are looking for.

Personally, I hate losing things. It drives me crazy. Just last night I had two pieces of chocolate I was going to eat. I started eating one and it was actually filled with caramel so I had to shove it in my mouth before I got it all over my hands. Somewhere in the process of moving around our hotel room I misplaced other chocolate. I don’t think I ate it, but I guess that is possible. I’ve probably spent at least 20 minutes looking all over the hotel room trying to figure out where that chocolate went. Losing things drive me crazy.

Ridiculous amounts of clutter drive me a bit crazy too. Katie and I both felt a few times while we were moving that we just wanted to throw all of our stuff out on the lawn and burn it so we didn’t have to deal with it.

Home organizing takes a bit of work, but it pays off in the end. It can save you time and money. I believe it can save you money in that it makes it easier for you to know what you already have and use it. We have bought a few things that we later realized we already had.

I’ve had the opportunity to try out the Brother P-touch Label Maker. I haven’t used a labelmaker extensively before, so it was kind of fun to figure out how this label maker worked. It wasn’t too hard. It is very easy to figure out how to customize your labels with different sizes, fonts, borders, and mini-graphics. The Brother P-touch is basically a little printer of laminated strips that are easy to place on a lot of different surfaces. Plus, it isn’t too hard to peel off if you want. You don’t have to worry about it leaving really sticky residue.

The first thing that I labeled was the ring that my house key was on. I have a couple of small keys of a similar size that I always have to fumble around with. I made a quick label under the cord format and minute later I wrapped it around the ring my house key is on. It has made it easier to find my house key.

Katie and I just got a new internet service with accompanying router. Apparently, we can’t change the name of our network and the password to login. Plus, it is very long and impossible to remember. So, I decided to make a very long label and place it on the inside of the cabinet on top of which the router is located. When guests come over and want to use out internet I don’t have to go looking for it in some file, whether digital or not. I can just point them to the cabinet door.

I have labeled a few clothing drawers and other things, and I have just started brainstorming ways to use this label maker. So far it has been fun, helpful, and easy-to-use.

To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, Brother P-touch will be having special promotions and deals at office superstores and other retailers. You can also visit the Brother P-touch site to check out the label maker and learn more.
