Forrest randomly mentions that he loves pigs in a blanket – you know, hot dogs wrapped in some kind of bread (usually a crescent roll.) A few days ago, I thought I would make him and Jack some pigs in a blanket with a fun twist.

We’ve bought some hot dogs throughout the summer when we’ve had coupons, so I thought this was a good way to use them up. I used a package of Bar-S Premium Beef Franks for this recipe. Bar-S is usually pretty affordable, especially when you have a coupon, and they are available pretty much everywhere. Did you know they are the #1 selling franks in the United States?

One of the foods that Colorado is more or less known for is green chile, so I thought it was kind of a fun shout out to the state we live in! Bar-S is having a fun “Cartin’ Round the Country” social campaign, celebrating regional hot dog renditions around the country, so I thought this was fitting for that! Visit Bar-S Facebook for a chance to win products & prizes! and find out more about this fun campaign. cheesy-green-chile-pigs-in-a-blanket (10 of 14)Visit Bar-S Facebook for a chance to win products & prizes! They are seriously so easy to make. This would be a great after-school snack to make! Jack and Forrest loved them, and they both asked for more! Forrest thought that they had great flavor, and that adding the cheese and green chile was a great idea. cheesy-green-chile-pigs-in-a-blanket (11 of 14) cheesy-green-chile-pigs-in-a-blanket (13 of 14) Here’s how simple they are! Find more information on Bar-S products used in this recipe (and others) at this link!
