Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket Review

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Arby’s for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I like fast food just as much as the next person. But I’ll be honest. I like fast food that doesn’t taste like fast food. Do you know what I mean?

For instance, several months ago, Forrest and I went to a fast food restaurant, that won’t be named, because we had a coupon. We should have known by looking at the ingredients that it was going to make us sick, but we got it anyways. It was 2-for-1! But let me tell ya…it was one of the most horrendous things I’ve ever eaten. Forrest and I both felt so sick and…unhealthy, the rest of the day. It was basically grease piled on grease. And ever since that moment, we talk about it all the time, and warn everyone not to eat it.

But you want to know to know what didn’t make me feel like that? This bad boy:

The Arby’s Smokehouse Brisket sandwich. This is the quality of food that all fast food should strive to have. Even though it has some slightly-less healthy items on it, it doesn’t make you feel gross after eating it. In fact, I feel like it could have been served at a sit down restaurant.

The Smokehouse Brisket sandwich has slow cooked beef brisket (cooked for 13 hours!), smoked Gouda cheese, crispy onions, BBQ sauce and Mayo. All of this is put between two crispy, bakery style buns, which, arguably, could be the best part (next to the brisket.) I opted against getting any cheese or Mayo on mine, which is pictured first, but here is Forrest’s, which has all of the sandwich’s toppings:

And let’s be real – I was skeptical about trying this. There’s not a lot of fast food that’s reall good, and makes me sad when I finish eating it. But really, I couldn’t get enough of my sandwich. You could tell the meat was quality, and that it had cooked for a long time. I love beef brisket, and this definitely ranked up there!

Jack also enjoyed our visit, but mainly because he was able to sneak a straw in some BBQ sauce to try and eat. Sometimes I wonder if this boy is really related to me:

But then I catch moments like this, and realize where Jack gets his ideas:

(just for clarification, Forrest wasn’t using his straw to suck up the sauce. He was mixing two sauces together. Jack seemed to think it was a good idea…but for another reason.)

ANYWAYS. You should definitely Find an Arby’s near you, and try this sandwich out. Do you think you’d like this sandwich? The only thing Forrest wishes is that it had some kind of lettuce on it.
