Sponsored Post: My Dream Home

Even though we are no where near the possibility of buying our first home, I often think about what kind of home we will one day own. I dream of having a huge backyard, a front porch with a swing, and a garden with lots of flowers and . I want to have a beautiful house house and land where our kids can play for hours if they want to.
Sometimes I love looking at other houses to get ideas for our future home. I mean, if you go on Pinterest for five minutes, it’s hard not too! I recently was browsing through the home and land packages in Mernda and wow, that would be a beautiful place to live! I love how unique the homes look, and how they aren’t huge. I’ve never had a desire to have a huge house — I mean, that means there would be more to clean up! And the landscaping of some of these properties are gorgeous. I think the outside of a home can really make or break it.
Obviously, I’m not about to move to Australia to live in one of these houses, but they did give me some ideas to put on my “House Bucket List.” I thought it would be fun to share some of the items on there!

Kitchen:

For me, the kitchen is one of the most important areas of the whole house. I love to cook and bake, so being able to have nice appliances, lots of space, and, most importantly, an amazing dishwasher, is ideal. I would love to have stainless steel appliances, white cupboards, and high ceilings. Here are two photos I found that, if combined together would make my perfect kitchen. I love how much counter space there is, and the colors. Of course, I would want to add some color, but for the most part, I love both of these kitchens.

Family/Theater Room:

Forrest and I made a deal — we don’t have to go the movie theater if we can buy a projector and create an awesome theater room someday. I was more than happy to accept that deal — not only would it save us money over time, but being able to watch movies on a huge screen and a great surround sound system would be almost as good as the theater. I’d love to combine this with a family room, where we’d have lots of seating for family and friends, and a big play area for kids. Here is an idea of what I would love for the theater/sitting area to look like:

Backyard:

I think it’s so important to have a nice, safe place for kids to play, and it’s always nice to have an outdoor area for visiting and entertaining. I’ve always loved my parent’s big backyard, where all the grandkids now love to go outside and play. Here are a few things I’d love our backyard to have:

  • Deck or patio with comfy furniture and a table.
  • A fire pit with seating —  it could actually be combined with the deck patio, to create something like this:

  • A garden!
  • A big hammock — my brother and sister-in-law have the most comfortable hammock ever, and I want one so bad now!
  • Playset with sandbox

I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to have a house like this someday, and I’d never go into debt to create something like this, but it’s fun to dream! What is on your dream home bucket list?
