My daughter (18) recently mentioned that she wanted a weighted blanket, she suffers with severe anxiety and also has extreme hyper-mobility, so finds it difficult to sleep more than a few hours without pain etc.

After looking over the interwebs, this is article is definitely going to be really helpful as I’ve decided to make one for her, that way it can be in her colour scheme and personalised for her size and weight requirements (5’3 & 8st), as I have noticed most shop bought blankets aren’t aimed at specific dimensions, plus cost obscene amounts.

Am hoping to give it to her for Xmas that way she will be used to using it before heading to university.

Have you had any trouble washing the blanket? I’m assuming that because it’s for a toddler it gets washed but didn’t know if you hand washed it or if you found pellets that are washable.

I’ve made 3 blankets that I kept and 1 I tore apart and remade. All of them are electrostatically charged. I have a serious static problem anyway and it’s so much worse now. Do you have any ideas?
