Chuck E. Cheese’s has made some great changes lately! Here is our Chuck E. Cheese Review, along with 7 Things You May Not Know about this iconic restuarant.
Thank you to Chuck E. Cheese’s for partnering with us!
My dad is a tax preparer, so this time of year is always a bit crazy for him.
Back when I was little, I remember him taking our family to Chuck E. Cheese’s as a celebration after April 15th.
That was one of my first memories of Chuck E. Cheese’s, and I remember thinking it was the coolest place around.
Well, fast forward 20-some years, and I still feel that same way!
However, the difference now is that I think they’ve made some great changes that have made it parent-friendly AND kid-friendly.
Our family really loves Chuck E. Cheese’s – especially Jack. Every time we drive by he asks when we can go again.
Honestly? I think he has more fun there than he did when we went to Disneyland last year!
Not everyone can afford to go to a resort or theme park…but I think just about everyone can go to Chuck-e-Cheese. So, I thought I’d highlight a few of our favorite features of Chuck-e-Cheese that you may not know about.
1) Menu was recently updated
I actually really like the food at Chuck-e-Cheese, and that appears to be the general consensus among anyone I’ve been there with (not just kids!).
They recently updated their menu to have even more options that will please just about everyone. You can build your own pizza or choose from one one their premade ones (we recently got the BBQ Chicken – SO good. I can’t get enough of those onion straws!).
Beyond pizza, they have desserts, lots of different sides (including tater tots!), a new stuffed crust pizza, and more. I’ve never been with someone who couldn’t find at least SOMETHING they liked!
They also have an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet from 11 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday. Kids under two eat free!
Check out their full menu here.
2) Kids Play Safe
I love that Chuck-E-Cheese has partnered with the organization – Kids Play Safe – to make sure their facilities are clean and green!
They identified ways to make implement more effective and environmentally-conscious cleaning practices nationwide. Chuck E. Cheese’s is actually the first major brand to be recognized for this.
I have to say, the past few times we’ve been, I have been impressed with the cleanliness. I get nervous going to places like this (so many germs), but I feel like they really go above and beyond to keep things sanitary and clean.
3) Free Entry
Did you know that there is no entry fee for Chuck E. Cheese’s? I think that’s pretty cool! There are a lot of ways to earn free tokens for games (through their app, promotions online, etc.), so even if you don’t want to buy pizza, you can come in and redeem them!
4) Free Wifi
Chuck E. Cheese’s now has Wifi available for parents! While I don’t recommend coming and letting your young children run wild while you surf the Internet, it can be helpful if you come with older kids.
You know, the ones that still need parents with them, but they may or may not want you to be around as they play. You can come, eat some pizza (or cheese sticks!), and enjoy the free Wifi!
5) Play Pass
This is one of my most favorite recent improvements at Chuck E. Cheese’s. You know how you used to have to carry around cups full of coins for games (that were likely laden with germs from others?)
No longer! Chuck E. Cheese’s now have these great cards that you just fill up with points and you can easily play games with them. You can reload pretty quickly at the reload stations, and it’s so much easier to keep track of.
We bought a little wristband for $1 so Jack was even less likely to lose it. Seriously, this is a game changer – did anyone like carrying around coins?!
6) Freebies
Although everyone covets after the prize wall at Chuck E. Cheese’s, there are actually quite a few fun freebies you can pick up along the way.
Most specifically, there are different stations where you can get pictures taken and drawn, little driver’s license cards, etc.
In addition, when we went recently, all of our drinks had little peely stickers on the side that had some kind of deal or freebie. One of them was for 50 cent cotton candy, but three of them were for 40 extra tickets! Awesome, right?
7) Safety Check
I don’t know if they’ve always had this, but I think it gives me a lot more peace of mind when we go to Chuck E. Cheese’s.
When you walk in, each member of your party is stamped with the same number. When you leave, they make sure everyone that is leaving together by referencing their stamp.
I don’t know about you, but having lost Jack (and Oliver being quite the wanderer), I’m grateful that they are so proactive about making sure no one leaves with someone they shouldn’t. Obviously, you need to keep an eye on your kiddos, but I think this is great for a little added peace of mind.
Bonus:
Fun for all ages!
Where a kid can be a kid, right? Well, it’s for the kids at heart, too!
I actually really enjoy playing the different games at Chuck E. Cheese’s, and I know Forrest does, too. During our most recent trip, all of us had so much fun – from ages one to 28!
In fact, I just mentioned to Forrest that we need to check out the lunch buffet. His response, “Yes! I do love Chuck E. Cheese’s!”
They have your typical video games, but then they also have sports-related activities, rides that are more suitable for babies or toddlers, and lots of ways to win lots of coins.
Our family’s favorite? Skee Ball. I LOVE it!
Our particular Chuck E. Cheese’s laso has this really cool fun house, which I went in a time or two with Jack. I haven’t seen it at other ones, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Chuck E. Cheese’s is really a great place to go as a family. If you haven’t been in awhile, I highly recommend checking it out!
