Halloween is only a few days away! Are you ready? In case you are still planning a Halloween celebration, or just want to make something fun for your kids, roommates, significant other, or friends, I have two delicious Halloween recipes for you. And, best of all, they can be adapted to be made year-round as well!
This first recipe is perfect if you have a lot of Halloween candy laying around, before or after Halloween. I took my favorite Chex mix recipe, and added chopped up miniature candy bars — Snickers, Milky Ways, and Three Musketeers. We had a huge bag of MARS mini candy bars, and this was the perfect place to use them. This Chex mix is pretty amazing to begin with, but with the added chocolate…it’s absolutely heavenly! Yes, it’s pretty sweet…but oh so delicious. Whenever I make this, it’s gone extremely quickly, and everyone is asking for the recipe. It’s perfect of parties, because a little goes a long way.
And in case you didn’t get enough sweetness from the Chex Mix, this homemade slurpie slush, made with 7-up, Red Hawaiian Punch, and a teensy bit of lemon juice, is sure to be a hit. The red Hawaiian Punch is perfect for Halloween. It’s super easy to make as well. All you need is a gallon-sized Ziploc bag, 7-up and Red Hawaiian Punch, lemon juice, and a freezer. It can easily be modified to use whatever flavors you want, but I thought this one tasted just like a slurpie from 7-11. It can be individually served in cups, or poured into a punch bowl for a party. Throw in a couple of frozen hands, and it will be the perfect, creepy addition to any Halloween party.
I’ve made similar punches in the past, where it was kind of slushy like this, but it always told me to put my punch bowl in the freezer. I don’t know about you, but there is no room in my freezer for a big bowl of punch! So I thought it would simplify things if I just mixed all the ingredients in a gallon sized Ziploc bag, freeze it, and then serve it however I wanted. And it worked out perfectly. After about two hours in the freezer, it was ready to go, and super tasty!
Do you have any fun Halloween plans? I’d love to hear about them. These treats would definitely be the perfect addition to any Halloween celebration!
